  • A spinning dancer at a Bhutan festival.  It can be difficult to capture fast moving ans spinning dancers.  This frame is perfect in that you  can see the face, dress details and hands.  It's a bonus that the dancer is seemly floating.

  • The F-16 is firing it's 20mm vulcan cannon at test targets on Droughon Range near Misawa AB, Japan.  You can see the smoke around the plane as the guns fire and this frame captured 5 rounds in the air. I was fortunate to be able to stand on the exterior of the control tower to get this view.

  • The Nebuta parade floats are painted washi paper over a wire frame.  They are then illuminated lanterns for the nighttime parade.

  • The brilliant red Japanese maple tree provides a good frame for the Kinkaku-ji (golden) temple in Kyoto.  There is a nice reflection too on the water.  Be sure to go first thing thing in the mornings to beat the crowds.
