Chiang Mai First Pole Ceremony

This was the first pole ceremony to start the building of our house in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The rebar for the first two columns can be seen here. They are decorated with fruit and colorful ribbons. The base of the column is filled with symbols for good luck and fortune. It includes leaves, silver and gold colored coins, seeds and other things. I symbolically put in coins for every place I’ve lived in my life which included a US quarter, Japanese Yen, Italian Lira, Deutsch Marks, Euros, Thai Baht, etc.
