PhotoMann in Florence

This travel photography section concentrates on Florence, Italy. Florence is steeped in centuries of history and magnificent architecture. It's a must visit for anyone touring the northern part of Italy. It's a wonderful city to just wander and soak up the ambiance.

Ponte Vecchio

This grand bridge is one of the symbols of Florence. It was built in 1345 and has been occupied by jewellers' shops since 1593.

This Michelangelo masterpiece was originally put on display in 1504 at the Piazza della Signoria but was moved to the Accadamia of Fine Arts in 1873.

Eyewitness Travel Guides: Florence and Tuscany

Eyewitness guides provide great detail on sights and history. It's a great reference especially with it's fantastic three dimensional cutaway views of sites and monuments to point out all the details. It makes finding things much easier than merely having a bunch of words and a map.


Lonely Planet Italy

As with most Lonely Planet guides, this Italy edition is an invaluable resource for planning your journey. It offers you the most up-to-date information about where to go and where to aviod, how to get there and get around, where to stay at a reasonable rate. The guide provides everything you'll need to know for a rewarding visit.
