Naselesele
The clouds cleared on Chirstmas Day near the village of Naselesele on
the island of Taveuni.

Double Rainbow
This spectacular view on Christmas Day was from the deck of a small 'resort'
in Matei on the island of Taveuni. It was still raining when this was
shot.
Matei Post Office
On Taveuni.
Washing Dishes
Near Navakacoa on Taveuni.
Copra Cooker
This contraption was used to cook copra in the old days.

180th Meridian
The 180th Meridian of longitude passes through Taveuni island. In theory
it's possible to straddle with one foot in 'today' and one in 'yesterday'.
The international date line actually deviates to the east to keep all
of Fiji in the same time zone.
Audrey's
This lovely little cottage was where we stayed on Taveuni. Audrey, an
American who has settled in Fiji, rents out this lone cottage on her spacious
land. It's quiet and has a nice view of the ocean.
Savusavu
Overlooking Savusavu harbor and township on the island of Vanau Levu.
Palm Trees
This clearing of palm trees lies along the Hibiscus Highway on Vanau Levu.
Aerial View
All the flights between islands are in small planes where almost everyone
has a window seat.
Turbulence
Roongnapa's first flight in a small plane was like an amusement park ride.
We flew into a heavy rainstorm. It was the bumpiest ride I've ever had
in a plane! When we landed in Savusavu we came in over the water and didn't
see anything (except water) till we were just a few hundred meters from
the runway.
Boat Wreck
This boat lies on the beach near Savusavu.

Interesting Tree
This scene is near the Tongan Hill Fort just outside Sigatoka on Veti

Nausori Highlands
The rain stopped just before sunset allowing PhotoMann to capture this
image. It was a long day driving up the Sigatoka Valley in our rented
jeep. It rained most of the afternoon making the dirt road quite muddy.
Fortunately we had 4-wheel drive or we might still be there. We managed
to get lost along the way since the sign for a key turn toward Nadi and
the Nausori Highlands was missing. We ended up in the middle of nowhere.
When we stopped and asked directions from the only people we saw in over
an hour we basically got the "you can't get there from hear" reaction.
Anyway, we eventually back-tracked to our missed turn where we found the
missing sign had been knocked over in a ditch.
